In 30 years of photographing weddings, about a thousand by my estimate, I can only think of about eight or so that have been adversely affected by the weather. It may rain before the wedding at the gardens but it's all over and dried out by the time we're there. Or it may hail and thunder at the reception but we were able to stop en route and do some personal images. Unfortunately at Kimberly and James wedding we were rained out. So I did what I do for all clients, I offered them a make up session. Some photographers would charge for this service but I don't. If they're willing to get the dress back on, do the hair and make up, and rent the tux again I think the least I can do is shoot a session for them. Plus, honestly, on a wedding day , in our market, you're usually so rushed that to get the bride and groom to give you 20 minutes to do something is asking a lot. To be able to do a session and have an hour or so with no bridesmaids saying, "The beer is getting warm!" is great.
